About Mrs. Embley

Hi, I'm Mrs. Embley! Your fabulous teacher!

This is my second year teaching Fifth Grade at Redd School. My passion is teaching and I absolutely love teaching fifth grade. Fifth graders are so much fun! I chose teaching because I enjoy working with students and as a teacher I have the opportunity to impact children lives.  But teaching wasn't my first career, I originally worked in accounting. After a couple of years in accounting I reassessed and felt that I needed to follow my passion. I than started my educational journey on becoming a teacher.

In addition to having a background in accounting, I have an undergrad degree in Psychology and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Education. I graduate this spring and I believe as an educator that I must  model for my students a love for learning.  In my free time I enjoy traveling, snorkeling, reading, shopping, decorating, relaxing in the pool and spending time with my family and friends. I love love the color pink, anything turquoise, shoes and great food.  I  also have a great love affair with the beach- there is a calming effect being around water! One day I'll live on an island! I actually got married in July of 2010 in Hawaii and we just celebrated our first anniversary in Belize and the Isle of Roatan.  Like I said, I love to travel and love beautiful beaches!

My husband is also a teacher/coach who loves to play golf. We're both from large families and  imports to Texas, Nate hailing from the Midwest and I am from sunny California.  I am the oldest daughter of a family of three girls and my mom is from a family of six girls.  Being that we are not from around here..most of our family still lives out of state (Missouri, Illinois, California & Oregon). So we spend a great amount of time traveling over the holidays to them. In addition to our crazy big families (that don't live in Texas) we have two cats- Bella & Smokey and a dog- Scout. Guess you can say we are animal people!

Bella The Siamese-she is the queen bee.
Smokey - Our fat cat- he thinks he is really a dog..no really he does.
Scout-our dog who thinks he is human and loves walks/runs.

Well I think that about sums me up in a nutshell! I'm sure by the end of the year you will know a lot more about me and I will know more about you! I can't wait to get to know each of you this year.
